Phase-1 Budget Model Task Force

The Phase 1 Budget Model Taskforce was created in June 2021 by Vice Chancellor Janet Parker to lay the groundwork for a future review of UIC’s RCM (Responsibility Centered Management) Budget Model.  The Phase 1 taskforce was charged with three deliverables:

  1. Document the current state of UIC’s budget model, along with perceived strengths and weaknesses
  2. Compile supporting data related to state appropriation, enrollments, tuition rates, differential rates, retention and attrition to support future discussions.
  3. Benchmark best practices and lessons learned from budget models at other public institutions with comparable enrollment and healthcare/research enterprises.

A new UIC Budget Model Redesign Taskforce for Phase 2 was formed in February 2022 to build on the work of Phase 1 and explore actual changes to UIC’s budget model.
