Phase-1 Budget Model Task Force
The Phase 1 Budget Model Taskforce was created in June 2021 by Vice Chancellor Janet Parker to lay the groundwork for a future review of UIC’s RCM (Responsibility Centered Management) Budget Model. The Phase 1 taskforce was charged with three deliverables:
- Document the current state of UIC’s budget model, along with perceived strengths and weaknesses
- Compile supporting data related to state appropriation, enrollments, tuition rates, differential rates, retention and attrition to support future discussions.
- Benchmark best practices and lessons learned from budget models at other public institutions with comparable enrollment and healthcare/research enterprises.

A new UIC Budget Model Redesign Taskforce for Phase 2 was formed in February 2022 to build on the work of Phase 1 and explore actual changes to UIC’s budget model.
